Ingredients
Slivered blanched almonds – ¼ cup
Butter – ¼ cup
Salt – to taste
Lemon juice – 2 tsp
Cooked green beans – 2 cups
Preparation
Cook slivered almonds in butter over low heat until golden brown, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; add salt and lemon juice. Pour over hot, cooked green beans.
Note: This can even be eaten by diabetes patients, as starch content is less in almonds. Beans contains thiamin, folic acid, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, potassium, protein, starch and fiber.
