Ingredients
Lentil soup – 2 cans
Potatoes – 3 no
Tomato – 2 no
Water – 2 cups
Curry leaves – 6 no
Fresh green coriander leaves (chopped) – a handful
Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp
Garlic powder – 2 tsp
Cumin coriander – 2 tsp
Tamarind paste- ½ tsp
Powdered red hot pepper – ½ tsp
Powdered turmeric – ¼ tsp
Salt – to taste
Preparation
Heat the vegetable oil in a pressure pan and add garlic powder. When they turn brown, add curry leaves, powdered turmeric, powdered cumin coriander, and powdered red hot pepper, diced tomato, and salt. Allow the tomatoes become soft and add lentil soup, wedge cut potatoes, 2 cups water, and tamarind paste. Cover the pressure pan and heat on high flame for 10 minutes. Open the pan carefully after 20 minutes. Garnish the soup with chopped fresh coriander. Enjoy this soup with bread or rice.
Note: This soup has got an incredible taste and is great in the weight loss angle.
